BIOGRAPHY

Not too long ago, sometime in the last five years, seven individuals of the musical variety came together to form the group that is now known as Streetlight Manifesto. Many tours were toured, a few records were recorded and hilarity and rock ensued (and continues to ensue). Since, as someone smarter than us has previously stated, talking about music is like dancing about architecture, we will spare you the excess and hollow superlatives of the typical rock band bio and go straight to the facts.
We are a band similar to and yet different from most other touring bands on the scene today. We have no outside management, and therefore have only ourselves to blame for our mistakes (and boy are we known to make 'em), but our successes are therefore so much sweeter to us. We receive very little support from our record label and, although difficult at times, it's probably better that way. We support file sharing for the most part, and welcome the inevitable demise of the current system behind the music industry. We shy away from interviews because we are musicians. We make music, and we have very little to say about it. It's all there in the songs, and in the live shows. Musicians talking about their music seems kind of silly to us. We are also more concerned with our music than with fashion or which celebrities we know (practically none, for the record). Nevertheless we are occasionally cornered into doing an interview, which, upon reading, will embarrass us for all the nonsensical things we've said on the spot.
We tour our asses off. Streetlight really happens onstage, so we try to keep moving, bringing our live show to as many places as possible. We love to travel internationally, and are always looking for new countries that might be interested in having us visit and rock for them.
Almost everything having to do with Streetlight comes from the within our small musical family, from the merch designs to the recording of our records, to the booking of our tours. We tend to try to keep a very tight leash on what we do and put out, because we want to stand by it. So far, despite numerous hiccups, we feel like we're creating something we can be proud of and we know how lucky we are to have amassed the loyal and energetic fanbase that we are proud to call our own.
