"Sometimes, I play shows entirely alone. And that’s all fine and dandy, it makes for a nice relaxed, loose show. I get to travel alone and wander to unique places on planet earth I wouldn’t have visited otherwise. I get to sip on something fermented and play more or less what I want, as if I was home, enjoying my guitar and a hang with friends. Oftentimes, I play with the two fine gentlemen that make up the other two thirds of my little acoustic trio. This is even better, musically and as a concert experience, in my opinion. This has become the standard for Toh Kay performances in recent times, and it’s a perfect balance of laid back and organized, multifaceted music. Occasionally, the trio is joined by a guest musician or a small ensemble of, for example, strings, and these shows are even more special and unique and complicated and rewarding, both for us up on the stage and, hopefully and presumably, for you guys, on the other side of the stage’s edge. Today, it is with almost uncontainable joy and excitement that I get to announce a new flavor of the Toh Kay Family of Organized Noises: Toh Kay With A (Frigging) Orchestra. On October 15th 2021, the Toh Kay trio will be joined on the Ace Theatre stage by a 20 piece chamber orchestra, for a concert that takes the songs we play regularly, along with some curve balls, to crazy new places. This will likely be a one time thing, unless there’s a winning lottery ticket or a wealthy benefactor in my future, so please come on out and experience it with us.
